Any Pentrich ancestors? Give names: Jeremiah Brandreth
Your Location: United States
Comments: Great Site, My great-grandmother Leticia Brandreth was the
youngest daughter of the Reverand John Brandreth who emigrated
to Philadelphia, Pa., United States, with his father Timothy
Brandreth. Timothy Brandreth was the only surviving son of
Jeremiah Brandreth the "Nottingham Captain". To my knowledge all
of Jeremiah's decendants would be now in the United States.

Comments: Found the site most interesting.Quite a number of Tophams in South Africa.Came over on the Schooner Eveline in 1862.The name Wainhouse also crops up as middle name through the family.Judging by the surnames listed in revolution papers, quite a few families made there way to South Africa (NATAL) during the mid 1860's.

Any Pentrich ancestors? Give names: martha ( ? ) henstock
Your Location: sidney, bc canada
Comments: Your website has fascinating information and is very well done. I came across it by looking for the whereabouts of Crich and Pentrich following 1841-51 Census records of my family.

My 3rd gt. grandmother, Martha ? , born about 1810 in 'Pentridge', married(about 1830) Frederick Henstock who was born in Crich, Derbyshire about 1808. In 1831 they appeared to be living in Hage, Derbyshire (which I haven't found). Their son William is reported to have been born in Hage in 1831.

I will pursue these leads with the help of your site and if you can give me any further guidance it would be very much appreciated. John Moloney

Any Pentrich ancestors? Give names: George Sutcliffe
Your Location: Coventry
Comments: My ancestor George Sutcliff(e) (Bricklayer) was living in pentrich in the 1841 census with wife Mercy and children Ann, William, Matilda and John. Any information anybody has would be welcome.
In particular I have a hunch that George was born in Alfreton in 1802, son of John Sutcliffe (also a bricklayer). Any thing anyone can do to confirm/deny this hunch would help me greatly.

Thanks,

Neil.
